Chapter 3 — The Secret That Changed Everything

One hour later.

A private helicopter landed on the roof of a hospital overlooking the ocean.

Alejandro and Elena rushed inside.

Victoria had already been arrested by federal agents.

But Alejandro no longer cared about her.

There was something more important.

A frail elderly man lay inside a hospital room.

Machines beeped quietly beside him.

The moment Elena entered, tears filled his eyes.

“Elena...”

Her entire body froze.

She recognized the voice.

Three years earlier.

After the accident.

A stranger had pulled her from a burning vehicle moments before it exploded.

That man.

The man who had saved her.

“Mr. Santos?”

The old man smiled weakly.

“I promised myself I would tell you the truth before I died.”

Alejandro stepped closer.

“What truth?”

The old man's trembling hand reached toward a folder.

Inside were old photographs.

Birth certificates.

DNA reports.

And one final letter.

Elena slowly opened it.

Then her knees nearly gave out.

Because the letter revealed a secret buried for decades.

Alejandro and Elena were not strangers who met by chance.

Their families had been connected long before they were born.

The old man had worked for both families.

And years ago, Elena's father had saved Alejandro's father from financial ruin.

Without that sacrifice...

Alejandro's empire would never have existed.

The old man looked at Alejandro.

“Your father spent years searching for a way to repay that debt.”

“But he died before he could.”

Then he smiled gently.

“Perhaps fate finished what he started.”

Tears rolled down Elena's cheeks.

Not because of the money.

Not because of the company.

But because she finally understood something.

Their love had survived lies.

Betrayal.

Years apart.

And even death itself could not separate the path that had always been leading them back to each other.

The old man closed his eyes peacefully.

His final mission complete.
