Chapter 15 - The Bride Who Chose Her Own NameThe gas filled the carriage.

Clara's vision blurred.
Gabriel stood beyond the glass.
Calm.
Victorious.
But he had made one mistake.
He believed Clara was still the frightened girl from the wedding.
She wasn't.
She smashed the emergency window with the metal base of a seat.
Fresh air rushed in.
Alexander pulled Eleanor toward the opening.
They escaped onto the tracks.
Gabriel ran.
Clara chased him.
“Stop!”
He turned.
“You finally understand.”
“No.”
Clara raised a gun.
“I finally understand what you wanted me to believe.”
Gabriel smiled.
“You were created.”
“So what?”
He frowned.
“You are not a daughter.”
“I know.”
“You are not a Whitmore.”
“I know.”
“You are not Clara.”
She looked at him.
“That part is yours to decide.”
Gabriel hesitated.
Clara continued.
“You spent twenty years telling me who I was.”
She stepped closer.
“You erased my memories.”
Another step.
“You manipulated my marriage.”
Another.
“You destroyed my family.”
She raised the gun.
“But you forgot one thing.”
“What?”
“I remember everything now.”
Gabriel's smile disappeared.
Clara recited the Orchid code.
Every number.
Every name.
Every account.
Every hidden facility.
Gabriel stared in horror.
“You memorized it?”
“When I was six.”
She smiled coldly.
“You taught me to.”
Sirens echoed in the distance.
The data released by Orchid had triggered international investigations.
Black Thorn agents were being arrested.
Officials were fleeing.
Banks had frozen accounts.
The network was collapsing.
Gabriel lowered his weapon.
“You can't destroy me.”
Clara shook her head.
“I don't have to.”
Police surrounded him.
Behind them stood Alexander.
Eleanor.
And Jonathan.
Alive.
Badly wounded, but alive.
Clara stared at her father.
“You survived.”
Jonathan smiled.
“I've survived worse.”
She ran to him.
For the first time in years, she allowed herself to cry.
Later that morning, the world woke to the largest scandal in modern history.
Black Thorn was exposed.
Hundreds of powerful people were arrested.
Families collapsed.
Fortunes vanished.
Governments launched investigations.
And at the center of it all was the woman everyone had underestimated.
The bruised bride.
The obedient daughter.
The wife who had supposedly entered a powerful family to become a silent ornament.
They had all been wrong.
Months later, Clara stood in the same wedding hall.
The chandeliers still glittered.
The marble floor had been polished.
The broken memories remained.
But this time she wore no veil.
Alexander stood beside her.
No security.
No family representatives.
No business contract.
No cameras.
Just the two of them.
He looked at her.
“You don't have to stay.”
“I know.”
“You can leave.”
“I know.”
“Then why are you still here?”
Clara smiled.
“Because for the first time, I'm choosing.”
Alexander took her hand.
“What are you choosing?”
She looked toward the empty altar.
“My own name.”
He smiled.
“And what is it?”
She thought for a moment.
Then answered:
“Clara.”
Not Whitmore.
Not Kane.
Not Orchid.
Just Clara.
A woman who had been created by strangers, manipulated by powerful families, and nearly broken by a man who believed wealth gave him ownership over her.
But they had made one mistake.
They thought pain would make her obedient.
Instead, it made her dangerous.
And as Clara walked away from the altar, her phone vibrated.
She looked down.
One final message.
Unknown number.
BLACK THORN IS DEAD.
She smiled.
Then another message appeared.
BUT SOMETHING WORSE HAS JUST WOKEN UP.
Clara's smile disappeared.
She looked at Alexander.
He had received the same message.
They stared at each other.
The story was over.
Or so they thought.
Because beneath the city, in a room nobody had discovered, a computer screen flickered to life.
A single file opened.
PROJECT ROSE
And beneath it:
SUBJECT: CLARA
STATUS: ACTIVE
The cursor blinked.

Then one final line appeared.
