Chapter 7 - The Silver-Eyed PupFinn's mysterious bloodline revealed a threat far older than the Voss throne.Serafina denied it.

At first.
Then she stopped.
Her silence became confession.
Damian wanted answers.
Immediately.
"You knew Finn had silver eyes."
Serafina nodded.
"The night he was born."
"And?"
"His eyes turned silver when he cried."
Damian remembered.
Finn had always hated bright light.
He had always reacted strangely around silver.
But Serafina had dismissed it.
She had told everyone it was nothing.
"What does it mean?"
"The prophecy says the silver-eyed heir can command wolves without shifting."
Alora's eyes widened.
"They can control minds."
"No."
Serafina shook her head.
"They can control the Moonbound."
Alora recognized the term.
An ancient army believed destroyed centuries ago.
"The wolves who don't answer to any Alpha."
Serafina nodded.
Damian stared at her.
"Why did you marry me?"
A tear rolled down her cheek.
"Because I was ordered to."
His entire body went still.
"My family needed access to the Voss bloodline."
"Your family?"
Serafina looked away.
"The people you call the Thorn pack."
Damian's expression darkened.
"You were one of them."
"I was born among them."
Alora stepped backward.
The woman who had abandoned the pups was not merely selfish.
She had entered Damian's life as a spy.
"Then why did you leave?"
Serafina finally broke.
"Because I fell in love with you."
Damian did not move.
"I was supposed to use you."
Her voice cracked.
"But I couldn't."
"So you abandoned the children."
"I was told if I stayed, they'd kill Finn."
"Who?"
"My brother."
"Your brother is dead."
"No."
Serafina looked directly at him.
"He is not."
A horn sounded outside.
A guard burst into the room.
"Alpha! Riders at the western gate!"
Damian grabbed his sword.
"Who?"
The guard looked terrified.
"The Thorn King."
Silence.
Damian's blood went cold.
Serafina whispered:
"My brother."
The gates opened.
A black wolf rode forward.
His armor was silver.
His eyes were the same color as Finn's.
He dismounted.
Then smiled.
"Damian Voss."
Damian raised his weapon.
"Kael."
Kael looked past him.
Straight toward Serafina.
"Little sister."
Serafina trembled.
Kael laughed.
"You look terrible."
Then his eyes shifted to Alora.
The smile disappeared.
He stared at her stomach.
Alora instinctively covered it.
Kael whispered:
"So it's true."
Damian stepped in front of her.
"What?"
Kael's voice became almost reverent.
"The true mate is pregnant."
Damian froze.
Alora could barely breathe.
She hadn't told him.
She had only suspected.

Kael smiled.
"Now we know where Finn must be."
