Chapter 14 - The Truth Behind 2:03 A.M.Michael stepped forward.

"Let them go."
His father shook his head.
"You still think this is about Ethan."
"It isn't."
"Exactly."
He looked at Olivia.
"She is the only person left who remembers the original file."
Olivia shook her head.
"I don't remember anything."
"That's what they wanted."
Michael finally understood.
The arguments.
The accusations.
The cameras.
The constant pressure on Olivia.
His mother had been trying to isolate her.
His father had been trying to discredit her.
But neither had been fighting over the baby.
They were fighting over what Olivia knew.
His father raised the gun.
"She saw everything."
Olivia suddenly spoke.
"I remember."
Everyone froze.
Michael looked at her.
Olivia closed her eyes.
A memory returned in fragments.
A hospital corridor.
A locked room.
Daniel screaming.
Evelyn crying.
And Michael's father holding a folder.
She remembered his words.
If anyone asks, the child was never here.
Olivia opened her eyes.
"They switched the records."
Michael's father stared at her.
"Don't."
"You told the hospital Ethan was another child."
"Stop."
"You changed the mother on the file."
His face darkened.
"You don't know what you're saying."
Olivia looked at him.
"I remember you."
Michael stepped closer.
His father raised the gun.
Then Evelyn spoke.
"It was 2:03."
Michael looked at her.
"What?"
"The night everything changed."
Evelyn's voice trembled.
"2:03 a.m."
"That's when the original records were transferred."
Michael remembered the monitor.
The nursery.
The exact time.
2:03.
His mother had chosen that moment deliberately.
She hadn't called him because Ethan was crying.
She called because she knew he was awake.
And she needed him to see.
Evelyn looked at Michael.
"I had no other way to show you."
His father laughed.
"You think a baby monitor changes anything?"
"No."
Evelyn turned toward him.
"The evidence does."
She pressed a button.
Every screen in the room activated.
Live streams.
Documents.
Bank transfers.
Hospital records.
Videos.
Conversations.
Everything.
She had spent years collecting it.
Michael stared.
"You recorded all of this?"
"Yes."
"Why?"
"Because I knew one day I'd have to choose between protecting you and protecting your father."
She looked at him.
"I chose you."
His father's expression finally changed.
Fear.
Not anger.
Fear.
He raised the gun.
Daniel moved.
A single shot cracked through the facility.
Michael dropped behind a desk.
Olivia screamed.
Then silence.
Michael lifted his head.
His father was on the floor.
Daniel was standing.
And Evelyn was holding the gun.
Michael stared.
His mother dropped it immediately.
"I didn't shoot him."
Everyone looked toward the security monitor.
A figure was standing behind them.
A police officer.
More officers entered.
Dr. Vale slowly got up.
He had triggered an emergency transmission before being attacked.
The entire operation had been recorded.
Michael's father was arrested.
But as officers handcuffed him, he looked at Michael.
And smiled.
"You still don't know the biggest secret."
Michael stepped forward.
"What?"
His father leaned closer.
May you like
"Ethan isn't the only child."
Then he was taken away.
