CHAPTER 2: THE MURDER THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING
THE SECRET HEIR WHO STOPPED A ROYAL WEDDING
CHAPTER 1: THE GIRL WHO CAME FROM NOWHERE
The ballroom was frozen.
Hundreds of guests stared at the young woman standing between the lawyer and the elderly heiress.
The lawyer's face turned pale.
"You?" he scoffed. "You're claiming to be the late Prince Alexander's daughter?"
The young woman didn't flinch.
"My name is Emma Carter."
The elderly heiress looked up from the floor.
Tears filled her eyes.
"Alexander..." she whispered. "My son..."
The lawyer quickly regained his confidence.
"This is ridiculous."
He turned toward the crowd.
"Anyone can walk in and tell a story."
The guests nodded.
After all, Emma wore simple clothes.
No jewelry.
No designer handbag.
Nothing about her looked royal.
The lawyer smirked.
"If you're truly his daughter, prove it."
Emma slowly pulled a small envelope from her pocket.
The room fell silent.
Inside was an old photograph.
A young Prince Alexander stood beside a smiling woman.
In her arms was a newborn baby.
The lawyer's smile disappeared.
The elderly heiress gasped.
She recognized the picture immediately.
It had been taken twenty-six years ago.
A photograph that had vanished after Alexander's mysterious death.
"Where did you get that?" she whispered.
Emma's voice trembled.
"My mother kept it hidden."
The lawyer immediately stepped forward.
"A photo proves nothing."
Emma nodded.
"You're right."
Then she pulled out a second document.
A DNA report.
The crowd erupted.
The lawyer grabbed the paper and began reading.
His face slowly turned white.
99.99% match.
Prince Alexander was her father.
"No..." he muttered.
"That's impossible."
But Emma wasn't finished.
She looked directly at the elderly heiress.
"My mother never wanted your money."
The old woman stared at her.
"Then why are you here?"
Emma swallowed hard.
"Because my mother was murdered three weeks ago."
The ballroom exploded into chaos.
And Emma pointed directly at the lawyer.
"I think he knows why."
May you like
The lawyer suddenly looked terrified.
