Chapter 11 - Jessica's ConfessionThe hospital feed continued.

Jessica's voice trembled.
“Diane told Brendan that if Cassidy's daughter was born, the Morrison family would lose control forever.”
The board listened.
Jessica continued.
“So they planned to make Cassidy disappear before the birth.”
Brendan shouted:
“She's lying.”
Jessica's eyes filled with tears.
“You told me to poison her medication.”
The room exploded with silence.
Brendan's face went blank.
Cassidy felt her heartbeat pounding in her ears.
Arthur whispered:
“That's enough.”
“No,” Cassidy said.
She looked at the screen.
“Let her speak.”
Jessica nodded.
“I refused.”
She wiped her face.
“That's when Adrian threatened my family.”
Adrian stood.
“This is theater.”
Cassidy turned toward him.
“Sit down.”
He did not move.
Daniel appeared behind him.
Adrian slowly sat.
Jessica continued.
“Diane told me Lily was alive.”
Cassidy closed her eyes.
“She said Lily had the bloodline seal.”
The board reacted.
Jessica looked at Cassidy.
“She wanted me to steal it.”
Cassidy stared.
“Why?”
“She said Lily would come to you eventually.”
“And?”
“She wanted me to follow her.”
Cassidy understood.
Jessica had been a spy.
Not for Brendan.
For Diane.
Then another revelation appeared.
Jessica had secretly recorded every conversation.
Arthur played the files.
Diane's voice filled the room.
“Cassidy must never give birth.”
Brendan answered:
“What if she does?”
“Then we make the child disappear.”
A board member covered his mouth.
Cassidy's hand moved instinctively to her stomach.
Daniel quietly moved closer.
Arthur stopped the recording.
Brendan looked at Cassidy.
“Listen to me.”
She said nothing.
“I never wanted her hurt.”
Cassidy laughed softly.
“You ordered poison.”
“I was desperate.”
“You laughed when your mother threw freezing water on me.”
“That wasn't the plan.”
Cassidy's eyes became cold.
“Then what was?”
Brendan's silence was enough.
Cassidy turned toward Adrian.
“You told him what to do.”
Adrian smiled.
“Yes.”
The room erupted in shouting.
Adrian remained calm.
“I built Morrison Global.”
“No,” Cassidy said.
“Victor needed me.”
“You stole from him.”
“I protected him.”
“You kidnapped my sister.”
His expression hardened.
“I protected Lily from your father.”
Cassidy stopped.
Adrian leaned forward.
“Your father wasn't innocent.”
“Explain.”
Adrian looked around the room.
“Nathaniel Ellison ordered the original takeover.”
Arthur stiffened.
“The acquisition documents say otherwise.”
“Because the real agreement disappeared.”
Adrian looked at Cassidy.
“Your father intended to take Morrison Global once Victor died.”
Cassidy shook her head.
“You're lying.”
“Then ask Lily.”
Cassidy froze.
Adrian smiled.
“She knows.”
The hospital feed suddenly cut.
Jessica disappeared.
The screen went black.
Daniel's radio crackled.
“Security breach.”
Cassidy turned.
“Where?”
“Medical floor.”
She ran.
Arthur followed.
They reached the hospital wing.
Two guards were unconscious.
Jessica's room was empty.
A trail of blood led toward the service elevator.
Cassidy's heart pounded.
“Lock the building.”
Daniel spoke into his radio.
“Already trying.”
The elevator doors opened.
Inside was Lily.
Alone.
Her hand was bleeding.
Cassidy stared.
“Where is Jessica?”
Lily looked at her.
“They took her.”
“Who?”
“Adrian.”
“How?”
Lily's eyes filled with panic.
“He had a second entrance.”
“Where?”
Lily grabbed Cassidy's arm.
“You don't understand.”
Cassidy pulled away.
“Then explain.”
Lily whispered:
“Adrian isn't working for Diane.”
Cassidy froze.
“Then who is he working for?”
Lily's face went pale.
“Your father.”
Cassidy felt the world disappear for one second.
“My father is dead.”
“I know.”
Lily looked toward the elevator shaft.
“But he left instructions.”
“For Adrian.”
May you like
Lily nodded.
“And those instructions were activated tonight.”
