Chapter 15 - The ArchitectSebastián stared.

"The architect?"

Valeria nodded.

"My father designed the original system."

Vega laughed bitterly.

"Your father was a fool."

"My father tried to destroy it."

"He failed."

"He hid the original code."

Vega's face tightened.

"Where?"

Valeria looked at the baby.

"Inside the genetic sequence."

Sebastián finally understood.

The baby was not merely a key.

He was a living password.

Vega moved toward them.

"Give me the child."

"No."

"Without him, the Vault cannot be opened."

Valeria smiled.

"You're wrong."

She stepped toward the machine.

"I don't need him."

The system flashed.

OVERRIDE AVAILABLE.

Vega's face went white.

"How?"

"My father built an emergency override."

"Where?"

Valeria pointed at Sebastián.

"In him."

Sebastián looked confused.

"What are you talking about?"

Valeria touched his chest.

"Your father didn't choose you because he loved you more."

Sebastián's face tightened.

"He chose you because you were the backup."

Vega whispered:

"No."

Valeria nodded.

"Adrián was the first key."

Sebastián was the second.

"The child is the third."

Three generations.

Three access points.

Vega understood too late.

"You need all three."

Valeria nodded.

"Exactly."

Sebastián looked at the screen.

"Then why bring me here?"

"Because the system needs a witness."

"Why?"

"Because once it's activated, the entire financial network will open."

Grant entered the chamber.

Behind him came federal agents.

"Valeria!"

She turned.

Grant looked at the machine.

"Can you shut it down?"

"No."

"Can you control it?"

"Yes."

"Then do it."

Valeria hesitated.

Vega laughed.

"She won't."

Grant frowned.

"Why?"

Vega looked at Sebastián.

"Because the system doesn't just expose criminals."

He pointed at the screens.

"It exposes everyone."

Sebastián stared.

What Vega said was true.

The network had data on judges.

Politicians.

Police.

Business leaders.

Doctors.

Journalists.

Ordinary citizens.

Millions of lives.

Exposing everything would destroy the country.

Valeria looked at Sebastián.

"I can release the ledger."

"And the rest?"

"Will remain hidden."

Vega smiled.

"Exactly."

Sebastián looked at the machine.

Then at Valeria.

"Do it."

Her eyes widened.

"Sebastián."

"Expose them."

"But the fallout..."

"People deserve the truth."

Grant stared at him.

"You understand what you're asking?"

Sebastián nodded.

"Yes."

Valeria's eyes filled with tears.

She placed her hand on the machine.

The Vault began to open.

Data flooded across the screens.

Names.

Transfers.

Payments.

Murders.

Secrets.

Then one file appeared.

A title.

PROJECT ORIGIN.

Sebastián stepped closer.

Inside was a photograph of his grandfather.

Beside him stood a woman.

Valeria froze.

"That's my mother."

The document opened.

A single sentence appeared.

PROJECT ORIGIN WAS CREATED TO REPLACE THE GOVERNMENT WITHOUT TAKING OFFICE.

Sebastián stared.

Then another sentence appeared.

CURRENT CONTROL: 61 YEARS.

Then another.

SUCCESSION DESIGNATED: ADRIÁN ALCÁZAR.

Adrián suddenly entered the chamber.

Alive.

Blood on his shirt.

His gun aimed at Sebastián.

He looked at Valeria.

"You activated it."

She nodded.

Adrián smiled.

"Then you made the final mistake."

He raised his weapon.

"I was never the backup."

He looked at Sebastián.

"I was the successor."

And behind him stood Rebeca.

Holding the real Red Ledger.
