Chapter 3: A New Beginning

Chapter 3: A New Beginning

Six months later...

The mansion looked different.

Not because the marble floors had changed.

But because laughter now echoed through every hallway.

Helena no longer wore a maid's uniform.

The family insisted she move into the brightest bedroom overlooking the gardens.

Every morning, the boys raced downstairs before school.

"Grandma!"

The word still made Helena stop smiling every single time she heard it.

Their father stood in the kitchen making pancakes—a skill he was still terrible at.

The smoke alarm rang.

The boys laughed.

Helena laughed harder.

For the first time in decades...

The house sounded like home.

On the wall hung two photographs.

One was the faded picture from the gold locket.

The other had been taken only a week earlier.

Helena stood in the center.

The boys hugged her from both sides.

Their father stood proudly beside them.

Below the frame rested the old hospital paper.

No longer hidden.

No longer a symbol of loss.

Instead, it carried a small engraved plaque.

"The truth may arrive late... but love always finds its family."

Helena looked around the room filled with the people fate had finally returned to her.

She realized something beautiful.

They could never recover the years that had been stolen.

But they still had tomorrow.

And sometimes...

May you like

Tomorrow is enough.

The End.
