CHAPTER 3: THE ENGINE THAT RECOGNIZED HIM

CHAPTER 3: THE ENGINE THAT RECOGNIZED HIM

Richard took a step back.

For the first time in his life, money didn’t help him understand what he was looking at.

The boy walked toward the car again, placing a hand on the hood like greeting an old friend.

“I didn’t come here by accident,” he said. “I’ve been tracking every system that still carries my code. This car was supposed to be dormant.”

He turned slightly.

“But someone reactivated it.”

Richard’s phone suddenly buzzed.

Once.

Twice.

Then nonstop.

He looked down.

Dozens of alerts. Bank systems. Vehicle networks. Private infrastructure links.

All showing the same message.

ACCESS GRANTED

UNKNOWN ADMINISTRATOR CONFIRMED

The boy exhaled slowly.

“So they finally noticed me.”

Richard’s voice dropped. “Who noticed you?”

The boy looked at him.

And for the first time, he looked his age.

Small. Quiet. Dangerous in a way no one understood yet.

“The people who buried my name,” he said. “And the ones who thought I would never come back.”

The supercar’s engine shut off.

Instant silence.

Then the dashboard lit up again on its own.

A single line appeared.

WELCOME BACK, ARCHITECT

The boy stepped away from the car.

And the garage doors behind them began to close automatically.

Richard rushed forward. “What is happening?”

But the boy didn’t answer immediately.

He just looked at the shutting doors.

And said one final sentence.

“They didn’t just build a car.”

“They built a key.”

The doors slammed shut.

Darkness swallowed the garage.

And the system went live across the world.
