Chapter 3: The Facility That Shouldn’t Exist
The building stood outside the city, hidden behind layers of corporate land that didn’t appear on public maps.
From the outside, it looked abandoned.
But Adrian knew better.
Security recognized him immediately.
Too late.
Because he wasn’t there as a CEO.
He was there as a husband.
He overrode the system using his clearance codes.
The doors opened.
Inside, the air was sterile, humming with machines.
And rows of sealed glass chambers stretched into darkness.
Each one contained a person.
Motionless.
Connected.
Alive—but not awake.
Adrian’s chest tightened violently.
Then he saw her.
Eleanor.
Her face was pale, but intact.
Her hair floated slightly in the fluid surrounding her chamber.
Her name blinked on the monitor:
SUBJECT E-17: STABLE
Adrian staggered forward.
His hand pressed against the glass.
“Eleanor…” his voice cracked.
Behind him, alarms began to sound.
Footsteps echoed down the hallway.
Lila grabbed his arm.
“We have to go. Now.”
But Adrian didn’t move.
Because Eleanor’s eyes—barely, impossibly—shifted toward him.
She was awake.
Ending: The Choice Between Truth and Love
Security flooded the room.
Warnings flashed red across every screen.
“System breach detected.”
“Containment failure imminent.”
Lila pulled harder.
“Adrian, we don’t have time!”
But he couldn’t look away from Eleanor.
Her lips moved slightly against the glass.
No sound.
Just a word he could barely read:
Run.
Adrian finally understood.
Finding her was never the end.
It was the beginning of something far worse.
He turned to Lila.
“Get her out,” he said.
Then he pressed his palm against the glass one last time.
“I will finish this.”
As guards rushed in, Adrian Vale didn’t run.
He stayed.
Not as a billionaire.
Not as a husband.
But as the man who just reopened a secret that powerful people had buried beneath life and death itself.
And for the first time in two years…
May you like
he wasn’t grieving a loss.
He was preparing for a war.
