CHAPTER 4 — A HERO WITH FOUR PAWS
CHAPTER 4 — A HERO WITH FOUR PAWS
The following weekend, thousands of people gathered at the seaside park overlooking the same cliff.
This time...
There were no rescue helicopters.
No sirens.
Only smiles.
The once-dangerous cliff had been reinforced with sturdy safety fences and warning signs to protect future visitors.
The little girl stood on a small stage wearing the same yellow floral dress.
Beside her sat the fluffy golden puppy, proudly wearing a blue ribbon around its neck.
The mayor stepped forward with a gentle smile.
"Today," he announced, "we honor extraordinary courage."
He placed a tiny silver medal around the puppy's neck.
The crowd rose to their feet.
Children cheered.
Adults wiped tears from their eyes.
The little girl knelt beside her best friend.
"You didn't let me fall alone," she whispered.
The puppy wagged its tail happily, as if it had only done what any true friend would do.
Months later, their rescue story inspired schools across the country to teach children about cliff safety, respecting nature, and the remarkable loyalty of animals.
The cliff became known not for tragedy...
But for hope.
And every spring, the little girl returned with her faithful puppy.
They picked flowers together again.
This time...
