Chapter 2: The Investigation
Chapter 1: The Boardroom Shock
The elevator doors opened onto the top floor.
Silence followed her.
Employees who had witnessed the scene downstairs exchanged nervous glances as the woman in the green dress walked toward the executive boardroom.
Inside, twelve senior executives sat around a massive glass table.
At the head of the table stood CEO Richard Lawson.
Confident.
Powerful.
Unchallenged.
Or so he thought.
The doors opened.
Everyone looked up.
Richard frowned.
“Excuse me,” he said coldly. “This meeting is restricted.”
The woman said nothing.
Instead, she walked directly to the empty chair at the end of the table.
Richard's expression darkened.
“Security!”
Nobody moved.
His assistant swallowed nervously.
“Sir…”
Richard turned.
“What?”
The assistant’s voice trembled.
“That is Ms. Victoria Hayes.”
The room froze.
Several directors immediately sat straighter.
Richard laughed.
“No.”
“Yes, sir.”
The assistant handed him a tablet.
Richard looked down.
His smile disappeared.
Because the company ownership records showed a single controlling shareholder.
Victoria Hayes.
Ninety-one percent ownership.
Founder.
Chairwoman.
The true owner of everything.
Including his position.
Richard slowly lifted his eyes.
Victoria calmly folded her hands.
“Please continue,” she said.
Nobody spoke.
Richard suddenly realized something terrifying.
The woman he had never bothered to meet...
May you like
was the person who could destroy his entire career with one signature.
And she was not smiling anymore.
