The branch manager rushed into the showroom after hearing the commotion.

...to the security cameras recording every second.
"What happened?"
Nobody answered.
The footage spoke for itself.
Within minutes, corporate headquarters was on the phone.
The realtor's employee badge was quietly taken from her desk.
She tried to explain.
"It was a misunderstanding."
The manager shook his head.
"No."
"It was discrimination."
Then he turned toward the veteran.
"Sir..."
"On behalf of this company..."
"I'm deeply sorry."
The veteran accepted the apology with a small nod.
But he never smiled.
