Chapter 2: The Secret He Never Told
Chapter 1: The Man Behind the Rag
The billionaire's mocking laughter died in his throat.
The entire Ferrari showroom froze.
The old car washer stood motionless, the soft polishing cloth still resting in his wrinkled hands. The employee lowered his head respectfully and repeated himself.
"Sir... your Ferrari SF90 has been prepared exactly as requested."
A silence heavier than marble settled over the showroom.
The millionaire glanced around, waiting for someone to laugh and reveal it was a joke. No one did.
"You expect me to believe this?" he scoffed. "This old man owns that car?"
The showroom manager hurried over, his face pale.
"Mr. Harrison," he whispered carefully to the billionaire, "this gentleman has been one of our most valued clients for years."
The old man finally looked up.
His eyes were calm.
"I never said I couldn't afford it," he replied quietly. "You simply decided who I was before asking my name."
The billionaire's face flushed red.
The old man accepted the keys but did not climb into the Ferrari.
Instead, he turned toward the young employees standing nearby.
"Thank you for treating me with kindness today," he said. "Especially those who offered me water while others looked away."
Nobody spoke.
Then he walked toward the exit.
The billionaire called after him.
"Who are you?"
The old man paused.
"My name is Samuel Reed."
Only then did several executives gasp.
May you like
Because Samuel Reed had once built one of the largest automobile parts companies in the country before disappearing from public life nearly twenty years earlier.
And no one knew why.
