Chapter 2: The Bracelet Never Lied Silence refused to leave the lobby. No one moved. No one even dared to breathe. Daniel's hand remained frozen around the silver bracelet. The woman stared at him through tears she had spent twenty years refusing to shed. "...It really is you." Her voice cracked. "I buried you." Daniel closed his eyes. "I know." The words barely escaped his lips. A murmur spread through the crowd. The rich girl's confidence evaporated. She pointed at him. "No." "This is ridiculous." "His death was documented." "My father attended the funeral." Daniel slowly turned toward her. "So did mine." Every face stiffened. The woman reached toward him with trembling fingers. "Why didn't you come home?" His jaw tightened. "I couldn't." "I wasn't allowed." The answer stunned everyone. Before anyone could ask another question... A black SUV screeched to a stop outside the hotel. Doors burst open. Four men in tailored black suits rushed inside. Not security. Professionals. Their eyes locked onto Daniel. "There he is." One reached beneath his jacket. A pistol. Hidden. Silenced. Daniel reacted instantly. He shoved the woman behind him. "Get down!" A muffled shot cracked through the lobby. Glass exploded. Guests screamed. The chandelier trembled overhead. Daniel grabbed the woman's crutches and swung them into the gunman's wrist. The weapon clattered across the marble. Chaos erupted. The assassins weren't trying to kill everyone. They wanted only one man. Daniel. As the attackers closed in... The woman suddenly shouted something that froze him where he stood. "I still have the letter Mother hid before the fire!" Every gun stopped. Every assassin turned toward her. One whispered into his earpiece. "She has the letter." The leader's face changed instantly. "Take them both." Black. / Chapter 2 / 2

Chapter 4: The Girl They Could Never Find

Chapter 4: The Girl They Could Never Find

Sunrise painted the city in gold.

Daniel stood on a rooftop overlooking the Ashcroft headquarters.

Emma joined him.

"Who is she?"

Daniel never answered.

Instead...

He unfolded the photograph from the envelope.

For the first time...

He noticed something hidden in the background.

A date.

Tomorrow's date.

The photograph had been taken twenty years ago.

Impossible.

Emma leaned closer.

"That's not possible..."

Daniel's eyes narrowed.

"It isn't a photograph."

"It's a scheduled surveillance image."

Someone...

Had been watching them for decades.

His phone vibrated.

A single message.

COME ALONE. IF YOU WANT TO MEET YOUR DAUGHTER.

Daniel froze.

Emma stared at him.

"You have a daughter?"

He whispered the answer like a confession.

"I never knew."

Another message arrived immediately.

Bring the bracelet. Leave the letter behind.

Daniel closed his fist around the silver bracelet.

Twenty years earlier...

Someone stole his identity.

Destroyed his family.

Buried another child in his place.

Now...

They were offering him the one thing he had never imagined still existed.

His daughter.

He looked toward the skyline.

Toward the towering Ashcroft building.

"This ends today."

He stepped forward.

The screen faded to black.

One final line appeared.
