Chapter 15 - The Bullet That Changed EverythingThe room went silent.

Luca stepped toward Marco.
“You?”
Marco nodded.
“I was ordered to.”
“By whom?”
Marco’s eyes lowered.
“Your father.”
Alessandro’s face hardened.
“You obeyed?”
“I was nineteen.”
“You still obeyed.”
“Yes.”
Luca stared at him.
“You left me to die.”
“I thought you were dead.”
“And then?”
“I found Isabella.”
Marco’s voice broke.
“She told me about Emma.”
Alessandro looked at him.
“Why did you protect them?”
“Because I realized what your father had become.”
Marco continued.
“I helped Isabella escape.”
“And Sophia?”
“I found her.”
Sophia stepped forward.
“You knew me?”
“Yes.”
“You watched Emma grow up.”
“Yes.”
Sophia slapped him.
The sound echoed.
Marco did not defend himself.
Emma stared.
“Why are you sad?”
Marco looked at her.
“Because I should have done more.”
Alessandro moved between them.
“Enough.”
Then the mansion doors opened.
A federal agent entered.
“Alessandro Moretti?”
“Yes.”
“You’re under arrest.”
Everyone froze.
“For what?”
“Murder.”
“Whose murder?”
The agent handed him a photograph.
Richard Vale.
Dead.
Shot through the chest.
Alessandro stared.
“When?”
“Twenty minutes ago.”
“Where?”
“Your warehouse.”
Luca immediately understood.
“Someone framed you.”
The agent shook his head.
“We have evidence.”
“What evidence?”
“Your fingerprints.”
On the murder weapon.
In the warehouse.
On the body.
Alessandro looked at Emma.
The little girl’s face went white.
“You promised.”
He crouched.
“I know.”
“Are they taking you?”
“Yes.”
“Will you come back?”
“Yes.”
“You promise?”
Alessandro hesitated.
Then smiled.
“I always keep my promises.”
As he was handcuffed, another notification appeared on the mansion screens.
TRUST SECURITY OVERRIDE.
Then:
EMMA’S GUARDIAN REMOVED.
Sophia gasped.
“What?”
A second name appeared.
NEW GUARDIAN: RICHARD VALE.
Luca stared at the screen.
“But he’s dead.”
Everyone looked at each other.
Then the speaker crackled.
Richard’s voice filled the mansion.
“You really thought killing me would solve the problem?”
Emma backed into Sophia.
The voice continued.
“You still haven’t met the real Moretti.”
The screen changed.
A live video appeared.
A man sat inside a dark room.
Gray hair.
Cold eyes.
Alessandro’s father.
Alive.
Smiling.
And beside him stood Richard.
Alive.
Alessandro stared.
The photograph of Richard’s dead body was fake.
