Chapter 15 - The Woman at the End of the HallNo one spoke.

The screen showed her clearly.

Older.

Thinner.

But alive.

Stallone touched the monitor.

His hand shook.

“No.”

The woman on the screen looked directly into the camera.

“Stallone.”

He couldn't breathe.

Mara covered her mouth.

Helen collapsed into a chair.

Julian stared in disbelief.

Adam stepped closer.

“Mama?”

The woman looked at the screen.

Her eyes filled with tears.

“Adam.”

The boy began crying.

Stallone turned.

“Where is she?”

No one answered.

The video continued.

“I don't have much time.”

A figure stood behind her.

Daniel.

Alive.

Terrified.

She spoke quickly.

“I didn't die in the crash.”

Stallone closed his eyes.

“What happened?”

“I was taken.”

“By Daniel?”

She shook her head.

“Not Daniel.”

He stared.

“Then who?”

She looked behind her.

The figure standing in darkness moved slightly.

She whispered:

“Your father.”

Everyone turned toward the old man.

He didn't deny it.

Stallone stepped back.

“You took her.”

“I saved her.”

“You let me believe she was dead.”

“If you knew she were alive, they would have killed you too.”

“Who?”

His father looked at the screen.

“The people who built the legacy trust.”

Stallone frowned.

His father explained.

The family wealth had been created through generations of illegal transactions.

His father tried to dismantle it.

The board threatened the family.

His wife discovered the truth.

She planned to expose everything.

The only way to keep her alive was to make the world believe she was dead.

Daniel became the messenger.

Helen became the guardian.

Julian became the investigator.

Mara became the protector.

Gideon became the cleaner.

And Stallone became the uninformed heir.

Everyone thought they were protecting him.

Instead, they built a prison around him.

But there was one person outside their control.

Richard Vale.

Richard wanted the legacy trust.

He manipulated Daniel.

Used the family.

And ordered the abuse of Noah because he believed the boy knew how to access the fortune.

The final recording suddenly changed.

Richard appeared.

He was inside a car.

Driving.

He looked furious.

“You want the truth?”

He laughed.

“Fine.”

Then he turned the camera.

In the passenger seat sat Noah's mother.

Alive.

Richard had found her.

Stallone shouted:

“Where are you?”

Richard smiled.

“Come alone.”

Stallone reached for the gun.

His father grabbed his arm.

“Don't.”

“My wife is alive.”

“You'll walk into a trap.”

“I don't care.”

He turned to Gideon.

“Find the location.”

Gideon worked quickly.

“Industrial district.”

“Send the team.”

“Too late.”

“What?”

Gideon stared at the monitor.

Richard's vehicle was already moving.

Then Noah stepped forward.

“Daddy.”

Stallone crouched.

“What?”

“The red tie.”

“What about it?”

“The man with the red tie wasn't Uncle Julian.”

Stallone looked at him.

“He wasn't Richard.”

“What did he look like?”

Noah swallowed.

“He looked like…”

The boy pointed behind Stallone.

Stallone turned.

His father stood in the doorway.

Wearing a red tie.

Silence.

The old man slowly removed it.

“Noah remembers.”

Stallone stared at him.

“You were the man in the house.”

His father shook his head.

“I was trying to protect him.”

“You watched.”

“Yes.”

“You gave orders.”

“Yes.”

“You let Mara hurt him.”

His father looked broken.

“Yes.”

Stallone raised the gun.

“You lied to me for years.”

“Yes.”

“Why?”

His father answered:

“Because your wife asked me to.”

Stallone froze.

“What?”

“She knew if you learned she was alive, you'd come for her.”

His father reached into his coat.

He pulled out one final envelope.

“Read it.”

Stallone opened it.

His wife's handwriting.

“Stallone, if you've reached this point, I'm sorry.”

He kept reading.

“I know you will hate everyone who lied to you.”

A tear ran down the page.

“But there's one thing I need you to understand.”

“I didn't leave you.”

“I was trying to save you.”

“The person behind everything was never Daniel.”

Stallone's eyes moved to the final line.

“It's the person who has been watching Noah from the beginning.”

He slowly looked at the security monitor.

Every screen in the control room was active.

Kitchen.

Hallway.

Nursery.

Bedroom.

Garden.

Basement.

And one final camera.

A camera Stallone had never seen before.

It showed Noah's bedroom.

But the image wasn't live.

It was old footage.

From the day Noah was born.

The camera angle slowly changed.

A woman stepped into the room.

Carrying newborn Noah.

She looked directly into the lens.

Stallone recognized her.

His wife's sister.

A woman everyone had been told died fifteen years earlier.

She placed newborn Noah in the crib.

Then whispered:

“You'll never know who your father really is.”

The screen went black.

Stallone stood frozen.

Behind him, Noah tugged at his jacket.

“Daddy?”

Stallone turned.

“What?”

Noah looked toward the dark hallway.

“There was another man.”

Stallone's blood ran cold.

“Where?”

Noah pointed toward the mansion door.

“He's outside.”

The lights went out.

The front doors opened by themselves.

And a man's voice came from the darkness.

“Stallone.”

One step.

Then another.

“It's time you met the real heir.”

The door slammed shut.

And for the first time that night, Stallone understood the truth.

The nightmare had never been about who wanted his son to suffer.

It was about why.

And somewhere inside the mansion, someone had been waiting years for Noah to remember the final name.

The name that could destroy the entire family.

The name Noah had just whispered.

“Daddy…”

Stallone looked at him.

The boy trembled.

May you like

Then he said:

“It's you.”
