Chapter 11 - The Boy Who Knew Too MuchMarcus Vale had been declared dead after the same crash that killed Stallone's wife.

His body had supposedly been recovered.

The funeral had been private.

Now someone with his face was walking through the mansion.

Stallone raised a gun.

“Stop.”

The footsteps paused.

A man stepped into the basement light.

Older.

Scar across his cheek.

Same eyes.

Same voice.

“Put the gun down.”

Stallone didn't.

“Who are you?”

The man smiled sadly.

“You really don't recognize me?”

Stallone's hand tightened.

“My brother-in-law died.”

“No.”

“You watched your sister die.”

“I watched her survive.”

Silence.

Marcus explained.

He had been in the car.

He had seen everything.

His sister had discovered the trust fraud.

She believed the mastermind was someone inside the family.

Marcus helped her hide documents.

Then the car crash happened.

He survived.

He disappeared because the people hunting them threatened Noah.

“I had one chance to keep him alive,” Marcus said.

“So you let me believe you were dead?”

“Yes.”

“And Adam?”

Marcus looked at the boy.

“Adam was already hidden.”

Stallone stared.

“By whom?”

“Your father.”

Everything connected.

Stallone's father had hidden Adam.

Marcus had protected Noah.

Helen had hidden the evidence.

Julian had monitored the house.

Gideon had deleted footage.

Richard had manipulated the records.

But there was still one question.

Who orchestrated the abuse?

Marcus answered.

“Daniel Cross.”

Stallone shook his head.

“What did he want?”

“The money.”

“What money?”

“The trust fund.”

Marcus explained that Stallone's father had created a secret reserve worth hundreds of millions.

But the money couldn't be accessed by ordinary transactions.

The person who knew how to unlock it was Noah.

Not because the boy understood finance.

Because his late mother had hidden the access code inside something only Noah remembered.

A nursery rhyme.

A sequence of words.

The boy had memorized it as a game.

Daniel believed the code was buried in his memories.

So he terrorized him.

He wanted to break the memory loose.

Stallone looked at Noah.

The little boy had been treated like a vault.

A human safe.

That realization was unbearable.

“Where is Daniel?”

Marcus shook his head.

“He's watching us.”

A monitor turned on.

Daniel appeared.

Red tie.

Calm expression.

He sat in a chair inside the original kitchen.

The same kitchen where Noah had stood under freezing water.

Daniel smiled.

“You finally found the right question.”

Stallone stepped toward the screen.

“You hurt my son.”

Daniel shook his head.

“No. I taught him to remember.”

“You tortured him.”

“He remembered, didn't he?”

Stallone's voice dropped.

“Where is the money?”

Daniel smiled.

“You still don't understand.”

“What?”

“The money was never the real target.”

Daniel leaned forward.

“The family was.”

He revealed that he had spent years creating divisions.

He manipulated Richard.

Blackmailed Mara.

Controlled Gideon.

Threatened Julian.

And used Helen's fear against her.

But one person resisted.

Stallone's wife.

So Daniel eliminated her.

Then he turned to Noah.

“He was the witness.”

Stallone's blood ran cold.

“Witness to what?”

Daniel smiled.

“The night your wife died, she recorded everything.”

He held up a small memory card.

“The original recording.”

“Where is it?”

Daniel smiled.

“Come get it.”

The monitor went dark.

Then every door in the basement locked.

A countdown appeared.

00:10:00

Ten minutes.

Julian stared.

“What happens when it reaches zero?”

A metallic click echoed overhead.

Marcus looked up.

“The gas.”

Stallone grabbed Noah.

“Find the exit.”

The countdown dropped.

Nine minutes.

Eight.

May you like

Seven.

And somewhere above them, a child began screaming.
