Chapter 2 – The First Memory "...Mira?" The name barely left the boy's lips. The ballroom fell into stunned silence. The girl nodded, tears shining in her eyes. "Yes," she whispered. "I'm still here." The man in gray stepped forward immediately. "Take her away." Four guards rushed toward the children. Before they could reach them, the boy tightened his grip on Mira's hand. "No." The single word stopped everyone. For years, he had obeyed every order. This was the first time he had refused. The man in gray forced a smile. "You don't know who she is." "I do." The boy's voice grew stronger. "I just remembered." Fragments flashed through his mind. A sunny hill. A wooden swing. A little girl laughing beside him. Then... Smoke. Screams. Someone pulling Mira away. Someone holding him down. His head throbbed. He grabbed it with his free hand. "What did you do to me?" he whispered. The man in gray remained silent. Mira gently squeezed his hand. "They lied to you." "You weren't born unable to walk." "You stood that day." The words shattered the last wall inside his mind. Another memory burst forward. A doctor. Bright lights. A needle sliding into his arm. The man in gray watching from the doorway. "Erase it." The boy gasped. His breathing became uneven. "It... was you..." For the first time, fear appeared on the man's face. He looked at the guards. "Now." The guards lunged. But dozens of guests had already begun recording everything. Phones filled the air. Whispers spread across the ballroom. "What is happening?" "Who is that girl?" "Why is the boy remembering?" The man realized he was losing control. He turned toward the exit. "Leave. Now." Before he could move another step... The boy called after him. "Why?" The man stopped. Without looking back, he answered quietly. "Because the truth would destroy everything." Then he disappeared through the palace doors. The ballroom remained frozen. The boy looked down at his legs. For years... He had never felt anything. Now... His toes moved. Just once. Mira smiled through her tears. "It's beginning." Neither of them noticed the old woman standing among the guests. She quietly closed an ancient silver locket. Inside was a photograph. Two children. A little boy. A little girl. And written beneath them were four words... THEY MUST NEVER REMEMBER. / Chapter 1 / 2

Chapter 3 – The Truth They Buried

Chapter 3 – The Truth They Buried

The palace was no longer silent.

It was drowning.

Guests whispered in every corner.

Phones recorded every movement.

The story that was supposed to stay buried had already escaped.

But inside a private room beneath the palace...

The boy sat alone.

Mira stayed beside him.

For the first time in years, he wasn't surrounded by doctors, guards, or strangers.

Only one person who remembered who he truly was.

"Tell me everything."

His voice was quiet.

Not angry.

Just tired of living inside a lie.

Mira looked down.

"I thought I would never see you again."

She opened her small bag and pulled out an old photograph.

The edges were burned.

The picture showed two children standing beside a large garden.

The boy smiled.

He was standing.

The boy stared at it.

"My legs..."

"Were never broken."

Mira's voice trembled.

"They made everyone believe you were weak."

"Why?"

She looked toward the palace windows.

"Because you saw something you weren't supposed to see."

The room became colder.

"What did I see?"

Mira hesitated.

Then she answered.

"The night they took me."

Another memory hit him.

A dark hallway.

A hidden room.

His father arguing with the man in gray.

"You promised no one would know."

"I handled it."

A child's voice.

His own voice.

"I saw everything."

The boy grabbed the table.

His breathing became heavy.

"The fire..."

Mira nodded.

"That night, your family wanted control of the company."

"They needed someone innocent to blame."

"And we were the only witnesses."

The boy closed his eyes.

Pieces finally connected.

The accident.

The doctors.

The years of silence.

All planned.

A knock interrupted them.

The old woman from the ballroom entered.

The boy looked at her.

"Who are you?"

The woman slowly removed her coat.

"My name is Elena."

She placed the silver locket on the table.

"I was your mother's closest friend."

The boy stared.

"My mother?"

Elena nodded.

"She tried to expose the truth."

"Before she disappeared, she left me this."

Inside the locket was a tiny piece of paper.

Only one sentence was written:

Protect my son. He is the only one who remembers.

The boy froze.

"She knew?"

"She knew they would come for you."

Mira stepped closer.

"And they did."

Silence filled the room.

Then...

A loud crash echoed from the hallway.

The lights went out.

Darkness swallowed the palace.

A man's voice came through the speakers.

"Bring the boy to me."

Everyone froze.

The man in gray.

He was still here.

Elena looked terrified.

"He found us."

The boy slowly stood.

Everyone stared.

His legs shook.

His body almost fell.

But Mira grabbed his hand.

"Don't be afraid."

The boy looked at her.

For ten years...

The world told him he couldn't stand.

But one person remembered that he could.

He took one step.

Then another.

The entire room watched.

The boy who had been trapped for years...

Was finally walking.

Then the palace doors opened.

The man in gray stood there.

His calm mask was gone.

Because behind the boy...

On the floor...

May you like

Were his first footprints.

And everyone had seen them.
