CHAPTER 2: The Boy Who Forgot How to Belong
CHAPTER 1: The Photograph That Stopped Time
The woman could barely breathe.
The paper bag slipped from her trembling fingers, oranges rolling across the sidewalk unnoticed.
Her eyes never left the faded photograph in Noah's hands.
"No...," she whispered.
People passing by slowed their steps.
The little girl in the yellow coat looked up in confusion.
The woman took another step closer.
"Where did you get that picture?"
Noah immediately pulled it against his chest.
"It's mine," he said softly. "It's all I have."
Tears filled the woman's eyes.
"Please," she begged. "Can I see it?"
For a long moment, Noah hesitated.
Then, carefully, he handed her the photograph.
The woman's hands shook violently.
The image showed a young mother holding a baby wrapped in a blue blanket. On the back, written in fading ink, were the words:
My Noah. No matter where life takes us, I will always find my way back to you. Love, Mom.
The woman broke down.
"Oh, Emily..." she sobbed.
Noah's eyes widened.
"You knew my mom?"
The woman nodded through tears.
"Emily was my younger sister."
The world around Noah suddenly became silent.
He had spent years believing he belonged to no one.
Yet standing before him was someone who knew his mother's name.
"My name is Sarah," she whispered. "I'm your aunt."
Noah stared at her.
Then looked down at the photograph.
Then back at her.
"You... you're family?"
Sarah collapsed to her knees.
"Yes, sweetheart," she cried. "We've been looking for you for years."
May you like
And for the first time in a very long time...
Noah didn't feel invisible.
