Chapter 4: Victoria's Final Bargain

Three days later, Victoria called.

She demanded one hundred million dollars.

Safe passage overseas.

No police.

No men.

Only Leo.

Against Mateo's advice, Leo agreed.

The meeting took place inside an abandoned seaside church.

Victoria stood beneath broken stained-glass windows, holding a detonator.

"You've changed," she sneered.

"No."

Leo answered quietly.

"I finally remembered who I used to be."

She laughed.

"You think saving one little maid makes you a good man?"

Leo looked directly into her eyes.

"No."

"But protecting my daughter might."

Victoria raised the detonator.

Before she could press it...

A single gunshot echoed through the church.

She froze.

Then collapsed.

Behind her stood an elderly man with silver hair.

Antonio Bianchi.

Alive.

"I promised your wife I'd finish this," he said.

"It simply took longer than expected."

The conspiracy that had haunted Leo's family for years ended with one shot.

Not fired by revenge.

But by justice long delayed.
