**Waitress Slipped a Napkin to the Mafia Boss: “The Waiter Is Armed.” What He Did Next Shocked Everyone**

Waitress Slips Napkin to Mafia Boss

“Listen. Fake waiter. Armed. Left side.”

Those nine words were the only warning Sloan Mercer had time to give.

She noticed his hands before she noticed his face.

The new waiter wore the right uniform, carried a convincing badge, and smiled when the manager introduced him as temporary staff.

But his hands told a different story.

Calloused knuckles. Hardened fingers. The kind of wear Sloan had seen in people trained to grip weapons, not serving trays.

His left hand kept drifting toward his jacket.

Every time he moved, it returned there.

Sloan had worked eight months at Aurelio’s, one of Portland’s most exclusive restaurants. She knew every employee, every kitchen route, every habit of the regulars.

The new man knew none of them.

His boots squeaked against the polished floor. His badge looked freshly printed. He asked where the dessert spoons were. He nearly collided with a busser because he took the wrong turn.

But one detail frightened Sloan most.

Every question he asked led back to Table Seven.

That was where Sloan Mercer was sitting.

Across from her was the most feared man in the city, mafia boss Victor Rainer.

He was calm, perfectly dressed, and completely unaware that someone inside the restaurant was preparing to kill him.

Sloan couldn't warn him openly.

So she wrote nine words on a napkin.

She folded it once, walked past his chair, and slipped it beneath his hand.

Victor glanced down.

Read it.

Then slowly looked toward the left side of the room.

The fake waiter was already moving.

His jacket opened.

Victor's expression didn't change.

But Sloan realized something far worse than the gun.

The man wasn't alone.

Three other “customers” had stopped eating.

And all four were watching Table Seven.

The restaurant suddenly felt very small.

Victor closed his fingers around the napkin.

Then he leaned toward Sloan and whispered:

“Miss Mercer... how long have you known you're being watched?”

Sloan's blood went cold.

Because she hadn't.

Not until that moment.

And when the lights went out seconds later, someone locked every exit from the inside.
