Chapter 7 - BLOOD REMEMBERSNora turned toward Adrien.

Her eyes were silver.
Her wolf was awake.
The creature's command echoed through the chamber.
Kill him.
Adrien did not move.
"Nora."
She trembled.
"Brother..."
Her fingers curled.
"I can't stop her."
Adrien dropped his sword.
"Then don't."
Nora stared.
"What?"
"I trust you."
The creature laughed.
"You will die."
Adrien smiled faintly.
"Maybe."
He stepped closer.
"But she won't."
Nora screamed.
Her body changed.
Silver energy erupted.
She slammed into the creature.
The two forces collided.
The chamber walls cracked.
Adrien grabbed Nora's mother.
"Get out!"
"What about Nora?"
"She needs you alive."
They ran.
The Alpha King followed.
Celeste remained behind.
Adrien stopped.
"You."
Celeste stared at him.
"I know what I am."
"What are you?"
She looked toward Nora.
"Her guardian."
Adrien laughed bitterly.
"You tortured her."
"I had to make her believe I was cruel."
"You almost killed her."
"I needed the blood awakening."
Adrien raised his sword.
"You expect me to forgive you?"
"No."
Celeste looked at him.
"I expect you to survive."
A blast threw them across the chamber.
The creature emerged from the smoke.
Nora lay unconscious.
Adrien ran to her.
"Nora!"
Her mother screamed.
The creature approached.
"She is mine."
Adrien stood between them.
"No."
The creature smiled.
"You don't understand."
She lifted her hand.
The crystal necklace rose into the air.
A memory flooded the room.
Adrien saw his father.
The Alpha King.
Celeste.
Nora's mother.
And Rex.
All standing together years ago.
His father held baby Nora.
He whispered:
"If they learn she exists, they will kill us all."
Rex barked.
A woman screamed.
Then a man stepped from the shadows.
Adrien recognized him.
Elder Morrison.
The old man's younger face was unmistakable.
Adrien turned slowly.
"Morrison."
The Elder's eyes filled with tears.
"I was trying to save you."
Adrien's voice was cold.
"You lied to my father."
Morrison shook his head.
"I did worse."
He removed a hidden dagger.
Celeste lunged.
Too late.
Morrison stabbed the Alpha King.
The king collapsed.
Adrien caught him.
"Why?"
Morrison whispered:
"Because the prophecy has two heirs."
Adrien stared.
"What?"
Morrison smiled through tears.
"One silver."
He looked at Nora.
"One black."
Adrien felt the world disappear beneath him.
"And you..."
Morrison whispered:
"Are the second."
The creature smiled.
"Now you understand."
Adrien's eyes flashed black.
His wolf answered.
For the first time in his life, he felt another presence inside his own body.
Ancient.
Hungry.
Awake.
The creature whispered:
"Choose, Adrien."
May you like
"Save your sister."
"Or become her executioner."
