Chapter 5: A Father's Promise

Chapter 5: A Father's Promise

Weeks later...

The mansion no longer felt cold.

The violin returned.

But now it played joyful melodies.

Ethan finally had his own bedroom.

His own books.

His own birthday party.

His own laughter.

One evening, father and son sat together beneath the enormous oak tree overlooking the gardens.

"I thought you forgot me."

Alexander closed his eyes.

"I never even knew where you were."

"I searched hospitals."

"Schools."

"Orphanages."

"I hired investigators across three countries."

"I was simply looking in the wrong place."

Ethan reached into his pocket.

He unfolded a tiny paper airplane.

"I made this."

"It says..."

He smiled shyly.

"'Dad will come someday.'"

Alexander held the little paper plane like it was the most valuable treasure in the world.

"I promise."

"You will never wait alone again."
