Chapter 8 - The Omega Who Commanded the SkyThe courtyard filled with smoke.

The enemy army stopped marching.
Nobody expected what happened next.
Alona walked alone into the center of the courtyard.
Three baby dragons beside her.
Behind her stood Darius.
Behind him, the ancient dragon army.
The enemy soldiers began laughing.
âShe brought hatchlings.â
One soldier mocked.
Another shouted.
âAn Omega thinks she can stop us?â
Alona looked up.
The sky darkened.
Thousands of enormous wings spread above Frostmir.
The laughter died.
Her aunt stepped forward.
âAlona.â
Alona stared at her.
âYou know my name.â
âI knew your mother.â
âWhat happened to my father?â
The woman smiled.
âHe died because he was weak.â
The black dragon roared.
The entire army shook.
Alona raised her hand.
The dragon stopped.
Her aunt's smile disappeared.
âYou can command it.â
âNo.â
Alona looked at the dragon.
âIt listens.â
The distinction seemed to terrify her.
She lifted her palm.
The Mark of Three burned brightly.
Every royal dragon in the sky lowered its head.
The enemy soldiers dropped their weapons.
Her aunt shouted:
âAttack!â
Ten Alpha warriors charged.
Alona whispered:
âSleep.â
The silver dragon flashed.
A wave of violet light swept across the courtyard.
The warriors froze.
One by one, they collapsed unconscious.
No blood.
No screams.
The army erupted in panic.
Alona's aunt stared.
âImpossible.â
Alona walked forward.
âYou trained them to obey fear.â
She looked at the dragons.
âI taught mine to trust.â
The golden dragon leaped.
Its fire streaked across the battlefield.
The black dragon summoned a storm.
The silver dragon bent light around the enemy forces.
Within minutes, the invasion collapsed.
But her aunt did not run.
She smiled.
âYou still don't understand.â
Alona stopped.
âUnderstand what?â
The woman lifted a dagger.
âI wasn't sent to kill you.â
She stabbed herself.
Everyone screamed.
Dark blood spilled onto the ground.
The woman laughed.
âI'm the key.â
The blood formed a circle beneath her.
The palace trembled.
The ancient seal beneath Frostmir began opening.
Silas shouted.
âShe sacrificed herself to unlock the royal blood gate!â
Lena grabbed Alona.
âRun!â
Too late.
A black pillar of light shot into the sky.
Every dragon froze.
Even the black dragon bowed its head.
The three babies screamed.
Then the voice returned.
The ancient Dragon Mother.
The bloodline has been opened.
Alona looked around.
âWhat happens now?â
Silas whispered.
âThe strongest Alpha in Frostmir will become king.â
Alona's eyes widened.
âAnd the dragons?â
âThey will be forced to obey.â
Darius stepped forward.
âNot if we destroy the seal.â
Silas shook his head.
âOnly one person can destroy it.â
Everyone looked at Alona.
She approached the glowing circle.
The three dragons followed.
Her aunt smiled weakly from the ground.
âYou cannot destroy the royal seal.â
âWhy?â
âBecause it is made from your blood.â
Alona looked at her palm.
The mark pulsed.
Her father's dragon roared.
Lena shouted.
âAlona, don't!â
But Alona stepped into the circle.
Pain ripped through her body.
She screamed.
The three baby dragons cried.
Darius tried to reach her.
A force threw him backward.
Alona saw memories.
Centuries.
Queens.
Wars.
Dragons chained.
Children murdered.
A throne soaked in blood.
Then she saw something else.
Her mother.
Her father.
Holding hands.
Smiling.
Then they looked at her.
Her father's voice echoed.
Choose.
Alona understood.
The seal didn't need to be broken.
It needed a new command.
Her eyes opened.
Blue fire burned within them.
She raised both hands.
âI choose freedom.â
The royal seal cracked.
Then shattered.
Every chain in the ancient dragon world broke at once.
But something else happened.
The crown on the throne began floating.
It flew through the crypt.
Through the palace.
Across the courtyard.
And landed on Alona's head.
The entire kingdom fell silent.
Darius stared.
Ronan stared.
Lena covered her mouth.
The three baby dragons bowed.
Then every dragon in Frostmir roared together.
Silas fell to his knees.
âThe true queen has returned.â
Alona slowly turned toward the palace.
But before anyone could celebrateâŠ
the ground beneath Frostmir split open.
A gigantic hand emerged from below.
May you like
And a voice whispered:
âYou broke my prison.â
