Chapter 15 - At 2:13 a.m., exactly seven days after Daniel first entered Blackwood Manor, he stood outside the mansion gates again. The rain had stopped.

Snow covered the road.

Thomas sat in the car behind him, still recovering from his wound.

Marcus stood beside Daniel.

For the first time, they were not enemies.

Not friends either.

Just survivors who had finally stopped pretending they understood the game.

Daniel looked at the mansion.

"Why bring us here?"

Marcus answered:

"Because this is where your mother built the first prototype."

Daniel stared.

"I thought the laboratory was underground."

Marcus smiled.

"It is."

He pointed toward the mansion.

"But the system isn't."

The front doors opened.

Daniel walked inside.

The living room looked exactly as it had seven days ago.

The sofa.

The coffee table.

The clock.

Even the photograph.

His photograph.

But this time, someone else was sitting on the sofa.

An elderly woman.

Daniel stopped breathing.

"Mom."

She smiled.

"My son."

Daniel walked toward her.

His mother stood.

For a moment, he was twelve years old again.

He wanted to hug her.

Instead, he asked:

"Why?"

Her smile disappeared.

"Because I was trying to save you."

"You erased my memories."

"I hid them."

"You lied to me."

"I protected you."

"You destroyed my life."

She nodded.

"I know."

Daniel looked past her.

Evelyn stood near the fireplace.

Arthur stood beside her.

Alive.

Daniel looked at Arthur.

"You were shot."

Arthur shrugged.

"Bulletproof vest."

Daniel laughed bitterly.

"I hate all of you."

Arthur smiled.

"That's understandable."

His mother pointed toward the floor.

"The system is beneath us."

Daniel walked closer.

"Then let's end this."

They descended into the hidden facility.

But this time, the chamber was different.

There were no machines.

No weapons.

No guards.

Only a single chair.

And a mirror.

His mother spoke.

"The system doesn't need to connect to your brain anymore."

Daniel looked at her.

"Why?"

"Because you've already remembered."

Evelyn stepped forward.

"The only thing left is a choice."

Daniel looked at the mirror.

His reflection changed.

He saw Daniel.

Then Gabriel.

Then a child.

Then an adult.

Then both identities merged.

His mother's voice became distant.

"What are you going to do?"

Daniel looked at Evelyn.

"What happens if I activate Final Dawn?"

She answered:

"Every artificial memory created by The Architects disappears."

"And the people?"

"They remember."

"Everything?"

"Everything."

Daniel looked at Arthur.

"Governments will fall."

"Some."

"People will panic."

"Yes."

"People will die."

"Probably."

Daniel closed his eyes.

Then he remembered his mother hiding beneath the stairs.

His father's last words.

Evelyn holding his hand.

Thomas carrying him through the alley.

The years he thought were real.

The years he thought were fake.

All of it.

His.

He stepped into the chair.

"Let's do it."

The system awakened.

A voice spoke.

SUBJECT 17. FINAL CHOICE.

A second voice followed.

SUBJECT 18. FINAL CHOICE.

Evelyn stepped into the second chamber.

The room began shaking.

Daniel looked at her.

"What are you afraid of?"

She smiled.

"That when everything is gone, I'll have nothing left."

Daniel answered:

"You'll have the truth."

Evelyn nodded.

The system asked:

WHO DO YOU TRUST?

Daniel looked at Thomas.

Arthur.

His mother.

His father.

Then Evelyn.

"I trust the person who remembers who she was."

Evelyn smiled.

"I trust the person who survived becoming someone else."

The system went silent.

Then every screen in the facility turned white.

Above them, across the world, millions of people stopped.

A soldier dropped his weapon.

A politician forgot his speech.

A judge remembered a courtroom that never officially existed.

A mother remembered a child she'd been told had died.

A man woke beside his wife and realized he'd been living under another name for twenty years.

And somewhere in a dark room, Jonathan Cross opened his eyes.

He looked at the screen.

Then smiled.

"It worked."

Back inside Blackwood Manor, Daniel's body went limp.

Evelyn collapsed.

Thomas rushed toward them.

"Daniel!"

Daniel opened his eyes.

He looked around.

For the first time, there were no voices in his head.

No fake memories.

No hidden identities.

Only silence.

He looked at Evelyn.

She was crying.

Not because she was afraid.

Because she remembered everything.

Daniel stood.

"What now?"

Arthur walked toward them.

"For the first time?"

Daniel nodded.

Arthur smiled.

"We choose."

Outside, sirens began echoing across the city.

News alerts appeared everywhere.

The Architects were exposed.

Their networks were collapsing.

Their agents were surrendering.

Their files were being released.

But then Daniel noticed something strange.

One monitor remained active.

A single file.

No name.

No number.

No organization.

Only a timestamp.

03:17 A.M.

Daniel opened it.

A video played.

His father appeared on screen.

Jonathan looked directly into the camera.

"If you're watching this, then Final Dawn succeeded."

Daniel stared.

Jonathan continued.

"But there is one thing I never told you."

Daniel leaned closer.

"The Architects were never the final organization."

Evelyn stepped beside him.

Jonathan's face became serious.

"They were the experiment."

Daniel's blood ran cold.

"The real organization has been watching us since before you were born."

The video paused.

Then one final line appeared.

SUBJECT 19 HAS AWAKENED.

Daniel stared at the screen.

"Who's Subject 19?"

Nobody answered.

Then the mansion lights suddenly went out.

Outside, every security camera turned toward the same point.

The front gate.

A black car had stopped on the road.

The driver's door opened.

A woman stepped out.

She slowly removed her gloves.

Then her mask.

Daniel couldn't see her face clearly through the snow.

But Evelyn did.

Her expression changed instantly.

"No..."

Daniel looked at her.

"Who is she?"

Evelyn whispered:

"She was the first."

The woman walked toward the gate.

Behind her, dozens of black vehicles appeared in the darkness.

She stopped beneath the mansion lights.

Then she looked directly at the security camera.

And smiled.

A voice came through the speakers inside the house.

Cold.

Calm.

Familiar.

"Good morning, Gabriel."

Daniel stared at the screen.

The timestamp changed.

2:13 A.M.

Again.

May you like

Then the screen went black.
