🚨 BREAKING: U.S. Rescue Mission in Iran Turns Deadly — Iran Claims Victory, Washington Says Success

🚨 BREAKING: Conflicting Reports Emerge After U.S. Rescue Mission in Iran Leaves At Least Five Dead

At least five people have been reported killed in southwestern Iran during a U.S. operation to rescue a second crew member from a downed F-15 fighter jet, according to Iran’s Tasnim News Agency on April 5, citing a local official.

The governor of the mountainous Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province stated that the fatalities occurred during clashes in the Kouh-e Siah (“Black Mountain”) area. China’s Xinhua News Agency also reported that several soldiers were killed during the rescue mission.

Despite the violence, both crew members of the downed F-15 have now been successfully recovered. U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed that no American personnel were killed during the operation.

⚠️ Iran Claims U.S. Mission Failed, Reports Downed Aircraft

Iranian state media, however, presented a sharply different narrative—claiming the U.S. rescue mission ended in failure.

According to Tasnim and Fars News Agency, multiple U.S. aircraft and helicopters were destroyed in southern Isfahan province during the operation. Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Command stated that its integrated air defense system tracked and eliminated what it described as the entire U.S. “rescue chain.”

Iran claims to have shot down:

Two C-130 military transport aircraft

Two UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters

Additional supporting drones

Military sources also reported that the U.S. deployed HC-130 Hercules aircraft—specialized, high-value platforms used for combat search-and-rescue missions—alongside Black Hawk helicopters tasked with infiltration and pilot extraction.

⚠️ Competing Narratives Intensify

Iranian officials insist their air defense network responded effectively, describing the U.S. operation as a failed “rapid strike” attempt. Spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Ebrahim Zolfaqari stated the mission was completely defeated through coordinated action by Iran’s armed forces.
